''Selling Sunset'' Season 8 Trailer: Chelsea''s Divorce Is Explored, Chrishell Calls for ''New Beginnings''
Season 8 of ''Selling Sunset'' debuts Sept. 6 on Netflix.
The Oppenheim Group is back and more stylish -- and cutthroat -- than ever.
The season 8 trailer of Selling Sunset dropped on Tuesday, promising big listings and even bigger drama. Chrishell Stause, Mary Bonnet, Amanza Smith, Emma Hernan, Nicole Young, Chelsea Lazkani and Bre Tiesi return as realtors in red bottoms. But not every moment is as cheerful as ringing the office bell.
The trailer begins on a positive note with Chrishell making a toast with the girls to "moving forward, good mojo and new beginnings." But the tone quickly shifts after Bre asks the cameras, "Is my dagger straight?"
Because the Los Angeles real estate market is "sh*t right now," twin brokers Brett and Jason Oppenheim say that the girls "have to solve problems" to stay in the group.
"We need to be extremely aggressive," Chelsea says.
But the girls also have problems outside the luxury brokerage to face. In March, Chelsea filed for divorce from Jeff Lazkani -- with whom she shares son Maddox and daughter Melia -- after seven years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. The following month, her estranged husband filed a written declaration that he also wanted a divorce, claiming she had been "physically aggressive." As the trailer pans to Chelsea in tears, it seems as if her transition from marital bliss to a sharp split will play out in the eighth season.
"I heard information that could really affect families, marriages," Nicole says.
Later in the trailer, someone tells Bre, "I did hear something about Chelsea''s husband," which leaves her mouth agape. Chrishell, Amanza and Mary cover their mouths in another clip after a phone is passed around with its contents unknown.
"They say don''t shoot the messenger, but she''s definitely gonna shoot me," Bre says on the way to see Chelsea.
"I don''t want to do this. I can''t do this," an emotional Chelsea tells the cameras.
Meanwhile, Mary and Jason, who previously dated and shared custody of dogs Niko and Zelda after their split, cry over Niko after Jason says, "We don''t have that long with him."
The trailer then cuts to Chrishell giving ex Jason a big hug while they both wear all black. With other cast members in black and knowing that Niko died at 18 years old at the end of February, it can be assumed that this may be a funeral scene.
"Relationships, friendships, everything''s gonna change," Bre says in the trailer. "Time to shake up this office."
A newcomer concludes, "Bring it on b*tches."
The eighth season of Selling Sunset premieres Sept. 6 on Netflix. A new game based on the show launches Sept. 4.
