Vince Vaughn”s wife and two children stood by his side on Monday as he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Vince Vaughn was feeling the love from his wife, children and friends as he was honored Monday with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Wedding Crashers star, 54, and Kyla Vaughn– who wed in 2010 — made the event a family affair as they brought their two kids, 13-year-old daughter Locklyn and 11-year-old son Vernon. Vaughn — who is starring in Apple TV+”s Bad Monkey next — also gave his wife and kids a sweet shout-out as he took the podium to give his thanks for the honor.
“My beautiful wife Kyla, I”m so glad that you”re with me on this now, I”m so grateful for you and these beautiful kids and for all the laughter that we share together,” Vaughn said during his acceptance speech. “As much as all this means, Vernon and Locklyn, you guys really do need to know that you guys are the most important thing in the world to me.”
The ceremony also welcomed big-name actors like Mel Gibson and Peter Billingsley, as well as Scrubs and Ted Lasso creator Bill Lawrence, who serves as executive producer on Vaughn”s new series.
During his speech, the Four Christmases actor joked about how even with famous friends in the crowd, the most important people in attendance were his children and wife.
“You”re not as lucrative and you don”t give me access to the kind of stuff that this kind of thing does,” Vaughn quipped, “but with that all being said, you guys are the most important and I love you very much. It”s great to have you guys with me.”
Also in the audience were Vaughn”s parents, Vernon Vaughn and Sharon Eileen Depalmo, who he said he was “lucky” to have with him to receive the honor, as well as his two sisters, Valeri and Victoria Vaughn.
Of course, the actor did still pose for photos with the non-familial supporters — including Billingsley, Gibson and Lawrence — thanking them each for coming to support him and specifically shouting out Lawrence and Billingsley for their glowing remarks. Billingsley — best known for playing Ralphie in A Christmas Story — is also Vaughn”s partner at his production company, Wild West Picture Show Productions.
ET most recently gave fans a first look at Vaughn”s new series, which follows Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), a former detective with the Miami Police Department, whose life takes an interesting turn after a severed human arm washes up on a beach and leads him into a winding investigation. In an ET exclusive featurette, the actor”s coworkers equally showered him with praise and admiration while teasing his incredible work in Bad Monkey.
“Vince Vaughn is a hero of mine,” said Zach Braff, another star of the show. “When I saw Swingers, it made me want to be an actor like that, who could come up with jokes on the spot…Today, for the first time, I got to do it with the man I always looked up to!”
Meanwhile, Lawrence explained how the show was elevated by having Vaughn bring the character of Andrew to life. “Watching him doing that up-close and making stuff that we wrote better, it was a pleasure,” the TV producer shared.
