Sam Asghari Shares the ''Cruel'' Lesson He Learned During Britney Spears Marriage
Sam Asghari also revealed whether or not he is dating after his divorce from Britney Spears.
Sam Asghari''s marriage with Britney Spears taught him a "cruel" lesson.
Asghari spoke to Us Weekly on Wednesday about how single life has been since he filed for divorce from Spears after a year of marriage. The couple tied the knot in an intimate wedding at Spears'' California home in June 2022, nearly six years after they met on the set of her 2016 music video for "Slumber Party." Their divorce was settled in May. While moving forward in life, Asghari is looking back on the lessons he learned from their relationship.
"When you''re in a relationship or any experiences that are major in your life, you learn so much," Asghari, 30, told the outlet of his marriage with Spears, 42. "It''s definitely something that I learned so much from the past, and that''s something that was a college crash course on how cruel some people in Hollywood could be."
But Asghari isn''t dwelling on the exes'' history.
"I only celebrate the past," he explained to the outlet. "I always like to appreciate the past, celebrate the past and that''s just a big part of me. I''m always going to be that type of person."
"I''m here and came from a different country, and I''m living an American dream, and I''m always going to appreciate that. [It] was the biggest moment in my life, so that''s something I''m always going to have fun, and I''ve already won," continued Asghari, who hails from Iran. "Anything that''s going to happen in the future is going to be a blessing, and it''s going to I''m always going to appreciate those moments."
As for whether or not he''s dating, the Jackpot! star said he''s focusing on his career and treating his dog like a queen.
"Right now, I''m dating a very high-maintenance girl and, you know, I have to get her nails done and take her to the dog park and feed her good food and get her really nice treats. That is what I''m focused on at the moment," Asghari joked about his pet pup. "And [a] career is something that''s going to require 100 percent of your time, and I''m really putting all that effort and putting all of my mindset towards acting … [and] producing career."
He added, "My goals are always the opposite of my personality. That''s gonna require a lot of time, so I''m not really focusing on [dating] at the moment."
Asghari has talked about his marriage with Spears before, even opening up about their heartbreaking miscarriage.
Meanwhile, a biopic about Spears is on its way. The movie is based on her bestselling memoir, The Woman in Me, in which the singer candidly writes about her childhood, career, past romances and her conservatorship. However, what''s not discussed is Spears'' split from Asghari, as that went down after the novel was already written. So, it''s unclear if the end of their marriage will be showcased on the big screen. But Asghari has said he''s "very proud" of Spears and her memoir, and has reacted positively to what is written about him in the book.
