The R&B superstar shared that he needs time to rest and heal from an injury to ensure he delivers his best performance. Despite the setback, Usher reassured fans that the rescheduled show will offer a unique journey through his musical legacy, promising 100% of his energy and dedication when the tour resumes.

Usher made a tough announcement about his Past Present Future tour. 

On Wednesday, the “Confessions” singer shared that he would be postponing the opening of his highly-anticipated tour — which was set to kick-off in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. 

“For my 30-plus year career 100% of my blood, sweat and tears has gone into putting on the best performance and creating a memorable experience for my fans,” he wrote. “I have every intention of doing that for this tour as well which is why I have to postpone tonight”s show and reschedule it for a later date to give my body a second to rest and heal. You”re still going to get a bit of the past, some of the present and a unique look into the future on the rescheduled date but you”ll be getting 100% of me.” Usher announced that he would have to postpone the start of his Past, Present , Future Tour. – Bellamy Brewster

The 45-year-old entertainer continued, “The last thing I want to ever do is disappoint you, the fans who have been eagerly waiting for this tour to start. However, I wouldn”t be the entertainer that if I can”t physically give you my best. My team will be sharing news of the rescheduled date soon. I can”t wait to celebrate this legacy with you.”

So far, the rescheduled dates have not been shared. 

ET has learned that Usher needs time to heal from an injury. 

Earlier this week, ET spoke with the “Burn” singer as he prepped for the legendary tour. Usher told ET”s Kevin Frazier that there”s going to be something for three generations, as well as A.I. skating.

“To be able to pull together this moment that celebrates my legacy, you should expect something otherworldly,” he shared. “And also to very much connect to my musical vision.”

Usher added, “I”m gonna go all the way back to my first record, and I”m gonna bring people all the way up into a current moment that”s very relevant at the same time. It”s going to be sporadically curated throughout the entire performance. But everybody gets something.”
